Looking at this from a different perspective, could there be a reason people see UFOs?
My guess is that they WANT to let us know that something is going on here. Something isn't right. They want us to get curious. They want us to get up and start doing things. Start researching.
Let's discuss?
Even those who don't believe (or aren't sure) in UFO's/E.Ts can possibly contribute something small.

Well I have to admit that I'd had absolutely no interest in the subject until I read more about it also I have friends who have seen them and I have too about 2 yrs ago. Perhaps they deliberately show themselves to people to make them look into the subject rather than just accepting what they're told by the press and T.V.?
As far as I can see, at the moment, there seem to be two types of UFO sighting, one is of nuts-and-bolts flying craft and one is of something a little weirder and might be a manifestation of something that's been around since the beginning of time and is more related to fairies and ghosts.
When I was a kid I used to walk my dog all over the place, including down deserted lanes and across bleak moorland and through woods and nothing worried me, but I only went along that particular lane twice and both times everything just felt wrong. It was unnaturally quiet, even birds didn't sing, it just made me really uncomfortable and so I always avoided it. So now I'm more prepared to think that my sighting was genuine, but was more part of some wider weird stuff going on there. Either way, this has made me look into things more deeply than I would have if I'd just heard about them from a book.

I, myself, have not seen a UFO or anything of that nature. I also am not so conceited as to believe that we are the only species that exist in our Universes.
I have read of great past civilizations and seen the wall paintings that depict what appear to be space ships and perhaps aliens. All through history of man these types of objects have been scattered through out the world in paintings and depictions in caves and on rocks. It may even explain how knowledge could have been possibly attained by advanced civilizations.
All the articles I have read about abductions all have the same or similar story that they tell. I don't think this can be a coincidence. I won't even go into Area 51, which from my latest read is now based in Utah.
The one thing that I do remember is once reading, "I know there is intelligent life out there because they have not tried to contact us." I really like that one.
As Fox Mulder said in X-Files, "The Truth is out there."

I have seen a few things which can only be described as UFO's in my time. For example I was in London last month staying with friends, we were waiting at a bus stop in broad daylight when I happened to look up to the sky. I saw what looked like a black flying doughnut floating quickly by above my head. it soon got too far away and too high for me to see it anymore.... I drew my friends attention to it and she saw it too, so then I knew I wasn't going mad!
this could have a perfectly innocent explanation behind it I accept, but I have to call it a UFO at this stage.
I have also taken photographs of strange things in the skies over Abu Dhabi a few years ago, the photos showed a few strange things including what appears to be a bunch of orange fireballs in the sky in what seemed to be a spiral like snake or DNA pattern.
These were a set of 3 photos I was taking of the sun from different positions whilst waiting at a set of traffic lights which were taking forever to change, I am getting the same things showing in more than one picture which were taken from more than one angle, this makes me believe I can rule out things like lens flare..... For the record I saw nothing with my own eye, I only spotted these things when I looked through the pictures later that night.
some weird things are out there that's for sure.
