Where is Your God

I don't believe in the Christian God - I'm sorry but it makes no sense to me at all, its a human construct and therefore doesn't really exist at all, in much the same way stories and creative writing aren’t' real either. Its fiction.

However, I feel something exists and if you want to call it God then fair enough - but I don't even see it as that. Its nameless, faceless, invisible.. huge.. and could even be described as energy or consciousness but those aren't even accurate.

When I want to contact the Universal consciousness, its as if I look inside and it seems as though an inner part of my brain is activated, I can feel it in the centre.. like a little light coming on. Then it seems to move through to the frontal lobe and all of my brain.. and then I feel it activate my arms.. and my legs and my heart..

The experience of this is.. I start off very small.. and get bigger..

What used to be my fingers is the sky and what used to by toes is deep within the Earth.. my brain spans the entire universe and my body takes up different parts of it. In this state I can get bigger and bigger still and even hold the Earth in my hands and nurture it... I can experience all of this, I am inside but I am outside as well. Then if I need something or want something I just hold the thought- I don’t ask or plead or beg I just have it as imagery with no words.. no asking.. no pleading.. just the thought.. and very very positive.

Please sceptics reading this.. you'll come in with your "Opinion not proof" thing and I must point out that I am not proving anything here - what I'm doing is relating my experience of where "God" is. In my opinion.. its inside my mind ... and outside, and there's no distinction between my consciousness and what most people consider to be objective reality.

How does everyone else feel about where their God is?

I once read a statement, I don't remember who said it, but it stuck with me for some reason. The statement, and I'm sure I'll be paraphrasing, was, "Once we put a label on God, then the whole concept of what God is, is put into a box and this box contains only the word God and does not allow any further concepts to be attributed to what that God really is".

This struck a chord deep within me for some reason. I was brought up to believe in "God", but as I grew older and went on my own personal journey of a spiritual nature began, I realized that the word 'God' was not all that I found it to be. I realized it is just a label used by different denominations for their purpose of worship.

This confused me in my youth until I started reading anything I could get my hands on that was of a spiritual nature. This included many books of different denominations and other forms of religious beliefs outside of the christian faith. This was the beginning of a quest and a thirst that I found very hard to quench.

As time progressed and the more I read of the different beliefs of other cultures besides those of a christian nature, I came to learn what "God' was.

'God' is just a label, mostly confined to a christian nature. To others it is a supreme being, which was called many different things. I finally found one that I felt comfortable with that, to me, embodied all that I had read and felt.

Since I am non-denominational, I do not practice any one religion, but have drawn upon all and taken into my beliefs what I found pertinent only to me. I began calling this Omnipotent being my All That Is or my Source. To me this embodies everything that ever was and is yet to be. This is a most important aspect of my life.

Perhaps you may call it a label, but to me it is just a name I have given to my Source, as I feel, it embodies a range of definitions and not something I have put into a box, per se.

The All That Is has, to me been something that has existed beyond time immeasurable. It exceeds any definition I can find of its capabilities. It is not man, it is not beast, it is undefinable. It to me is pure, raw energy that has existed since time immortal and shall continue to exist beyond our time immortal.

It is a concept of life, death and all things before, during and after. It has no boundaries to me. It Is What It Is. This is where I believe my gifts come from, it is whom I ask to guide me when I use my gifts, and it is one to whom I ask for guidance when I feel I am in need. It is all of me and I am all of It.

I don't know if this has made sense to anyone, but it is the best way I know how to explain it. We all think so differently, and this is our choice by nature. I just wanted to share what 'God' meant to me.

Well said oz our belief in a ethereal being is a very personal element and to lable as a god just seams not only wrong but unnessesary
