I have been asked many times about orbs, so here goes. I am a believer of orbs. To me they are energy balls, some come in an array of colors or just white. To tell if it is an orb, after taking the picture, put it on your computer and zoom in to the picture of the orb. A true orb will always have energy lines radiating from it and surrounding it.
The scientific community, since they do not believe in the afterlife, will of course disavow and speak against the idea of orbs being a spirit manifestation let alone a ball of energy. One example is the Paulding Light. It has yet to be debunked, but yet it is a nightly occurrence and has been witness by many. So the scientific community can put that in their pipe and smoke it.
Most orbs you do get in photos are just dorbs (dust orbs or particles) which is caused by any breeze, wind or movement within the area the photo is taken. Also the dorbs with the happy face which is commonly seen is also just a dorb. Any dorb can be pollen, dust particles or even bugs, as a camera's flash will reflect light off the subject and make it appear to be an orb.
True orbs will usually manifest in a place that has paranormal activity. Sometimes if an EMF reader picks up a reading you may also at the same time capture photos of orbs, as the EMF picks up energy readings in an area. Some of the most interesting aspect of an orb is that when magnified, along with the radiating lines of energy you may also see faces or partial bodies and this is believed to be the spirit on the one that appears in an orb. But once again, I reiterate, the scientific community will challenge this.
Most dorbs will have no radiating lines but will be circular usually with a fine edge to it. You will also get 'deformed' orbs or dorbs and as of yet, no explanation is as of yet clear what causes this.
The eye can easily be fooled. A camera cannot be fooled and I recommend a digital camera for any type of orb or ghost hunting, just my opinion.
I could go on and on, but do want to bore you, but these are just a few examples of many on the web.
I, at one time had an extensive collection of orb photos but were lost in a computer crash. (grrrrr)
I will post one that I have saved taken by the Missouri River not far from Fort Osage which is in native Osage Indian territory and many orbs and apparitions have been photographed in the area. It was taken with a digital camera, no wind, but a still night, as you will see from the fire in the grill there was no breeze to contaminate nor any movement to contaminate. It was a cool fall night and I actually was so shocked by the photo I looked around to make sure no debris or trash was in the immediate area. It was not in the preceding photo nor the next photo taken after the capture of the orb. I always take five or six shots in succession to be able to validate any thing I may have photographed.
I hope this may have helped some of you in the idea of orbs. It is your choice to believe or disbelieve.

The orb picture I am posting below is magnified enough that the energy lines radiating from it are visible.
Another photo of an orb that clearly shows the energy emanating from it.

Now the below photo is just snow, but notice it appears to be orbs.

Another excellent photo of a true orb
Now these two photos the first of which is normal size and the second is enlarged with a most distinctive face of some nature.
