This simple documentary, done by a high school girl is so shocking.
The Blacks (oops African-Americans) have never been given a fair shake in the US. To this day, people are judged by their color and not their content. President Lincoln may have freed the slaves, but the mind of the people have yet to be freed. It saddens me that these young African-American children them selves associate the color Black as being bad. What kind of mind set is that for them to grow up and be productive and worth while individuals while this thought is already in their subconscious minds.
Will the thinking of the last two hundred years of Americans ever catch up with the reality of we are all the same?
I, unfortunately, grew up in a home that the "N" word was an every day occurrence. I hated it and was embarrassed by it. I vowed NOT to raise my children with this archaic attitude and succeeded wonderfully.
It reminds me of a song of when I was a child that we sang at Sunday School. I believed it with my heart and soul and still do to this day. It is not so much the Jesus part, but the words themselves gave me the basis for believing that we are all one and the same and color is just part of the human make up of the individual cultures.
Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world Black and yellow, red and white They're all precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world
Whether you're rich or whether you're poor It matters not to Him He remembers where you're going Not where you've been
Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world Black and yellow, red and white They're all precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world
If your heart is troubled Don't worry, don't you fret He knows that you have heard His call And he won't forget
Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world Black and yellow, red and white They're all precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world
All around the world tonight His children rest assured That He will watch and He will keep us Safe and secure
Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world Black and yellow, red and white They're all precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world
Are we as people ever going to rise above discrimination...
Bless...OZ
