We are all not going to be natural at meditation, we have to work hard or know some secrets to learn meditation, the way we achieve a meditative state is through practicing our rhythmic breathing, allowing our mind and body to relax in a way the we can accomplish meditation, being in a calm relaxed state and feeling comfortable.
Meditation is an individual past time, the way each of us meditate is an art, meditation is an art in itself with many paths to accomplish meditation, to achieve this we must have goals and we must be prepared to learn and practice our rhythmic breathing to become one within ourselves to achieve a meditative state.
There are many meditation techniques around for us to practice with, from a religious meditation stand point from prayer and other meditation practices, to a more spiritual and new age mediative practices, meditation is truly an art we must learn to reduce the stress on our everyday busy life as meditation can help us perform better and have clear focused thoughts in our waking lifes.
To achieve the art of meditation we must practice the art of breathing, as breathing is the main point to get to a meditative state, the reason being is that our mind's and bodies relax with every focused breath and when we achieve a rhythmic breath we achieve our goal of relaxation, as there are many ways of breathing you need to find the one that helps you meditate.
Thought is usually the main point that is frowned upon during meditation, though this is the art of meditation, the secret to meditation is to allow your thoughts to flow and not to suppress them in a way that most likely will cause suffering, as suppressing your thoughts in meditation will only allow them to surface at the most inconvenient time, which we call outbursts, this is the great part of healing and meditation.
Another point in meditation the ever worrying body, this body of ours wants to move, it's natural, sometimes we can not sit still long enough to enjoy that relaxation, the art of meditation here is to use a moving meditation to accomplish our meditation goals of relaxation, such as walking or running, Yoga or dance, just remember while you are doing this practice the art of awareness and keep your breath rhythmic.
