Are you sitting comfortably? Prepare to hear a chilling tale from the US TV archives - in which a stony-faced woman reveals all about her haunted toaster.First shown on 'The Today Show' in May 1984.
This clip sees June O'Brien explain how Satan sometimes bellows out from her common-or-garden kitchen appliance - and also occasionally makes himself known via terrifying messages burnt into her toast.
So why didn't she take it back to Walmart and get another non-possessed toaster? "When all is said and done, it makes good toast," June explains. Ah, fair enough.
We have to say: we're pretty spooked now. And we'd only just recovered from watching this...

Is it any wonder this woman doesn't want to give her toaster up. I guess if you're going have a toaster that makes good toast you may as well have a haunted one form hell. It's where all the best toast is made.
I still have and use a beautiful working and in good condition Russell Hobbs 1970s Toaster. And if mine ever starts making toast like this then I'm stuffed as the guarantee has well run out. And yes, it still makes good toast.
