Being an American citizen is almost getting to be a point of embarrassment to me. Since the inception of our Bill of Rights and the US Constitution it has been interpreted and misused to an extreme which I find galling. Does anyone ask the people their thoughts on what they are doing? Of course not, they take it upon themselves that they are doing us a vital favor to protect us. My answer to that is a big B.S.!!!!!!!
The following article is just one more control factor being implemented into our system and it matters not how it violates our rights or personal freedom.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is giving significant new powers to its roughly 14,000 agents — allowing them more leeway to search databases, go through household trash or use surveillance teams to scrutinize the lives of people who have attracted their attention.
The FBI soon plans to issue a new edition of its manual, called the Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide, according to an official who has worked on the draft document and several others who have been briefed on its contents. The new rules add to several measures taken over the past decade to give agents more latitude as they search for signs of criminal or terrorist activity.
The FBI recently briefed several privacy advocates about the coming changes. Among them, Michael German, a former FBI agent who is now a lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, argued it was unwise to further ease restrictions on agents’ power to use potentially intrusive techniques, especially if they lacked a firm reason to suspect someone of wrongdoing.
…
Some of the most notable changes apply to the lowest category of investigations, called an “assessment.” The category, created in December 2008, allows agents to look into people and organizations “proactively” and without firm evidence for suspecting criminal or terrorist activity.
Under current rules, agents must open such an inquiry before they can search for information about a person in a commercial or law enforcement database. Under the new rules, agents will be allowed to search such databases without making a record about their decision.
Believe it or not, there was a time when the U.S. Federal Government was barred from maintaining a standing army. We’ve come a long way from those days. Now every stinking government bureaucracy, whether it’s primarily a law enforcement body or not, has it’s own little army of officers. And they are expanding their powers, often without discussion. Consider this recent news:
Department of Education breaks down man’s door, raids home…
On March 11 of this year, the Washington Post asked “why is the Education Department purchasing 27 Remington Brand Model 870 police 12-gauge shotguns?”
TSA Considers Banning Photography at Checkpoints…
This is something that’s been a growing problem for a while now, but it’s quickly getting out of hand right before our eyes. It’s a road that doesn’t lead to a very nice place.

I think it is a shame that the American people cannot revolt or have any say in these matters. I speak my mind and will continue to do so until my last breath. Something has got to change or I fear the results will be catastrophic.

some one is at my door and I imagine it is the Feds about to kick it in because I'm on one of their list for speaking my mind...that is OK by me, I am armed with the words of truth.
