The young boy, named Jack, appeared remarkably relaxed on the safe side of the glass as the lioness, named Kya, desperately attempted to lay her paws on him.
Dressed in a zebra-like black and white hooded top, Jack sat peacefully as the 250lb lion stood over him and swiped furiously at the glass, even trying to grab the child with her jaws.
Filmed by his mother, the toddler simply said "kitty, kitty" as the four year-old lioness continued her hopeless assault behind him.
Posted on YouTube on Wednesday, the clip has already garnered nearly 10,000 views online.
Meanwhile, workers at the zoo told a local television news channel that the lions are always interested in young visitors, before adding that the exhibit is completely safe.

Thank goodness the glass was there !!! personally if it was my child i would have found it quite disturbing and removed the child from the situation i think, for the sake of the child and the lion,
