Card 1: The Moon


The Moon is numbered eighteen and depicts a mysterious night-time scene. There is often water in the foreground, a full moon depicting the face of a woman sailing high about the land, flanked by pylons. Sometimes droplets appear to be falling like tears from the Moon, taking the form of Hebraic Yod symbols (considered to be impregnatory seeds). There are also sometimes dogs or wolves baying at the Moon. The Moon card you see here depicts Anubis, the jackal god of the Egyptians. There is also usually a crayfish or scarab.

The crayfish is renowned for its ability to fall in love with, mate and impregnate itself. This suggests some of the Moon's more illusory meanings. The scarab is almost always shown with a solar disk between its claws. This is a symbol of renewal and immortality, showing the Moon's association with natural cycles and rhythms.

We have a close affinity with the Moon. The lunar cycle affects oceans and all natural tides. We say that people are more psychotic when the Moon is full, calling them "lunatics". The Moon affects our emotions because they come from the inner hidden part of us, where dreams also reside.

The Moon indicates a voyage to the centre of the Self. We will not be revealed as something weak and unlovable. We will be able to release our psychic and intuitive abilities. Important secrets are revealed when we dare to bring back what is deep inside.

Card 3: Princess Of Swords: ( Past)

Like the other Sword people, the Princess of Swords is intellectually inclined, perceptive and intuitive. She is, again, a keen observer, who brings clarity and insight to situations in which she is involved. She is a forceful and self-determining young woman who ill-tolerates injustice, weakness and manipulation. She is probably not as secretive nor as hidden as some of the other Sword people - in fact, she tends to express her insight quite forcibly at times.

She has the same qualities as a keen observer of life, and people, that we see in the other Sword Courts. She's also a skilled arbitrator, having extensive negotiating skills and a ruthless cutting edge.

This card is another of those that has quite a bad reputation with some Tarot commentators - maybe because of her tendency to tell things as she sees them regardless of the consequences. Yet, unless she is badly dignified, the woman represented by this card will usually be honest, and frank.

She cuts away the blubber that often surrounds difficult emotional matters, and gets to the heart of things quickly and effectively. Generally she is objective and rational in her approach to life.

When this card comes up to represent a change of mood, however, we see the darker sides of the Princess emerging.

Then we are looking at a woman who is angry, emotionally distressed and probably feeling vicious. She may then be spiteful and unkind, even heartless. Somebody in this kind of mood is often cruel, regularly seeking revenge, and looking for trouble.

This card is quite powerful for you when it is dealt in the future position. The Princess of Swords is at her most powerful when her visit is a surprise. When she arrival has been announced and prepared for, you, the receiver of her visit, are in charge. This card here lets you know that a critique is coming. It warns you of unreasonable demands in a negotiation that will soon commence. It lets you know that those closest to you will not finesse words when their interests are challenged. Use the knowledge of this coming communication to protect yourself from the damage that ordinarily arrives with the Princess of Swords: damage we cause to ourselves by being unprepared.

Card 4: Ace of Wands: Extra card

The Ace of Wands begins the explosion of energy which runs throughout the Suit of Wands. Here we see massive out-rushing power, high levels of force, the beginning of whatever the Will desires.

When this card appears in a reading it often signifies the beginning of new life - whether as in pregnancy, or to represent the beginning of a whole new phase in life. In order to confirm pregnancy, you need to look for other 'baby' cards like the Princess/Page of Cups, or the Ace or 3 of Cups.

When the card comes up to indicate a new phase in life, there will often be other cards surrounding it which indicate the area that will be most affected by the new force.

This is a good card for healing energies, indicating high levels of vitality and vigour. This effect is much strengthened if the Sun also appears in the reading. It also indicates a period in life where we can forge forward toward our goals, having sufficient stamina and enthusiasm to follow through effectively.

It's worth bearing in mind, though, that this is a very raw energy - potent and powerful, but somewhat reckless and headstrong. Make sure that you don't get carried away with new projects, rushing heedlessly into something you have not considered thoroughly enough.


Card 5: Prince of Cups ( extra card)

Men represented by this card are complex and powerful beings. They are self-contained - even secretive - giving an impression of calmness and serenity. However under that veneer they can often be intense and volatile. They tend to hide their deepest passions, and to protect them fiercely.

They are often creative - artistically or musically inclined, and have deep involvement in these areas. Many of the more successful artists and musicians in our lives would come up as a Prince of Cups.

Emotionally they can sometimes be turbulent and moody, but can also often hide their emotions and refuse to share them with others. However, having a highly developed sensitivity to emotional ups and downs, they will identify yours even before you have. Talking to somebody like this about emotional matters is usually a rewarding experience, because they are highly perceptive and use their intuition readily.

If this card comes up to indicate an alteration in a person's behaviour, it will generally indicate a man moving into a new romantic relationship and feeling somewhat troubled by this. The Knight is the card that comes up to indicate a man happily falling in love.

The Knight of Cups is the most feminine of the Knights; although that does not mean that he is any less of a Knight. It simply implies that he is in touch with his intuition and emotions, and he uses them for his own good during his quests of romance and seduction. He is charming and attractive to others, regardless of their sex, while still expressing the romantic, poetic view of life in his unique way. He may be in love with love itself. This Knight also looks to his emotions to provide a map for his life direction. He is someone who is ruled by his heart rather than his head.

When faced with a decision, he will always go with what his heart tells him, whether it is logical or not. Decisions will be made without much thought and instead they are made drawing upon inner direction, with the experience of warmth, friendliness, love and the need to share these qualities with everyone.

As with all Court Cards, the Knight of Cups can manifest as an event, a person in your life, or as a part of yourself.

The Knight of the Cups often appears as a messenger, an invitation or the arrival of someone or something with an emotional benefit. He offers an interesting invitation, which will result in an emotional experience that will bring high energy and lift you to an exhilarating state as new situations appear from nowhere. In addition to the physical sources of information, the Knight of Cups can also represent wisdom that comes from your dreams and that helps you to surmount life’s obstacles.

The Knight of Cups represents the undertaking of the creative adventure hinted at in the Page of Cups. Whereas the Page encounters the mystical fish out of the golden cup and is thus initially inspired with creativity, the Knight has already encountered his inspiration and is about to undertake the journey of imagination and creativity to which the unconscious has impelled him. Thankyou so much for the reading Storm and daisy loved my bedroom window when she was young also she was a very fussy cat with her food.... she did have stiffness with her back legs but she also had heart problems and fluid on her lungs.. i went back to vets last nite to collect her ashes and now she is back home with me
