I have written of this before on the old forum but I am glad to share it again here.
When my youngest daughter and her husband had their first child they lived with me. One night the baby was fussy and my daughter being a new mother, woke me to help her.
We were sitting in the living room. I in my rocker and her facing me sitting on the couch. I had the baby in my arms and from rocking it, he finally fell asleep.
Now comes the interesting part. My mother had tragically passed a little over a year earlier. At the time mine and my daughters focus was on the child with no thoughts of my mother by either of us. All of a sudden this sleeping babe gave out a most boisterous deep belly laugh, whilst still asleep.
My daughter and I both at the same time turned our heads in the same direction and we both just stared in awe. She said did I see the same thing she saw and I said yes I did. For at the exact moment of the laugh of the child we both saw my mother bending down and whispering something into the child's ear which caused it to laugh. She did not acknowledge either I or my daughter for she was only there for the child.
She had on the gown she passed in. My daughter first described what she saw to me and then I to her. Our stories were identical. We both had tears in our eyes as we witnessed this visitation to her son and my dear grandson. At the time this occurred he was only 3 days old and this belly laugh I do not think is something a 3 day old baby is prone to do.
The baby slept peacefully through the rest of the night and my daughter and I spent much time discussing this visitation. One of the things my mother promised was if there was a way after she passed, she would come back and let us know she was alright.
This is just one story of her visitations, but the fact it was witnessed by both myself and my daughter was so thrilling, we still speak of it to this day.
Even though she was taken before her time, I know my mother is happy and reunited with her loving husband and is happy where she is. I felt my daughter and I were much blessed to have had this blessed visitation and to this day wonder what she whispered into that child's ear to make him laugh so hard.
