The God self is the essence of God within you. You are the essence of God physically expressing itself on Earth. The essence of God is love. Love is all you are; it is your true state, your real self. Love is your base, your foundation. People are taught and have the perception that they must build on their foundation. How you choose to build on your foundation is up to you. However, if you simply extend what you are, you will create more beauty than anything that has ever been built. My brother and sister, your base - your God self - is perfect, and you need not add or subtract anything from perfection.
Regardless of what perception you have of yourself and others, it does not change your foundation or your brother or sister's foundation. But you have been offered free will, and with that you may choose to see yourself and your brothers and sisters as you wish.
There is nothing that any great teacher or guru has obtained that is not obtainable to you. In fact, the God self is not something that is obtained, the God self is simply something that is realized and remembered. Nothing that is given to one is withheld from another. God does not play favourites. God's love for you is in no way diminished by your belief that you are less than what you truly are. God loves all, equally, and always.
Your understanding of truth is in direct relation to your ability to love. When we speak of love it is not about "special love" where one individual or individuals are loved more than or over others. When we speak of love, it is an all-encompassing, all-inclusive, non-divisible love. Erich From, in his book, "The Art of Loving,” put it this way:
"Love is not primarily a relationship to a specific person; it is an attitude, an orientation of character that determines the relatedness of a person to the world as a whole, not toward one 'object' of love. If a person loves only one other person and is indifferent to the rest of his fellow men, his love is not love but a symbiotic attachment, or an enlarged egotism. Yet, most people believe that love is constituted by the object, not by the faculty. In fact, they even believe that it is proof of the intensity of their love when they do not love anybody except the 'loved' person. This is the same fallacy, which we have already mentioned above. Because one does not see that love is an activity, a power of the soul, one believes that all that is necessary to find is the right object - and that everything goes by itself afterward. This attitude can be compared to that of a man who wants to paint but who, instead of learning the art, claims that he has just to wait for the right object, and that he will paint beautifully when he finds it. If I can say to somebody else, 'I love you,' I must be able to say, 'I love in you everybody, I love through you the world, I love in you also myself.'"
As we allow love to fill more aspects of our lives, the truth of who we are becomes clearer. The more we are able to share and extend love, the more we are able to see and experience truth. Both love and truth are boundless. To try and use words to define such energies would be to try and establish boundaries around All That Is.
One who is aware of his God self or true self recognizes it in all. Regardless of his position in the world, he will see you as an equal, a brother or sister in the remembering process. He will look at you as an equal because he recognizes your divinity. His knowledge of himself will strengthen yours. You are here in part to remember your God self, your divinity. Your God self is the truth of who you are. The more time you spend during the day in recognition of your divinity, your God self, the more you'll become aware of it in your brother, sister, and in the world. So how do you recognize your divinity? If you feel anything that does not reflect peace, love or joy, then you are not in recognition of your God self, your divinity. When you are experiencing or expressing any type of negativity, you are not in recognition of your divinity. Peace, love and joy reflect the presence of God. Peace, love and joy are natural extensions and expressions of someone who has allowed himself or herself the recognition of his or her God self. Please note that someone extending and expressing his or her God self will never judge you for how you choose to feel or behave.
