if you feel quiet in your mind it's because the mind chatter has ceased and maybe you need a rest break to absorb all information that you've discovered so far. you can ask your guides to step forward simply by saying 'please step forward to help me with this (whatever needs to be addressed or helped with)' . Your new guide or guide that's helping you will step forward. Signs to recognize your guides can be in form of tingling sensations of warmth, ringing in ears especially high pitched ringings I've been told are your guides trying to tell you something. Often buzzing is a sign when spirit or guides are around. Sometimes you can sense them with energy or shifts in energy. Sometimes others can see them. With angel guides they can be temperature changes such as cold then heat is often a signature feeling. Or a whoosh of air over the top of your mind if an animal guide or messenger has appeared. Signatures can also relate to hand gestures such as if a star energy being like Sirius has come to pass on a message, then it's a comforting greeting such as right hand on the left shoulder. Almost as if to say a salute or sign language of comfort. Loud tones to a few like dial tones (if one wants to be cheeky) are angels coming through. But also chimes can relate to faeries and bells can connected with spirit or angels.
This is partly what I've picked up from my traveling in connection with learning about spirit guides. Star beings as I call them relate to the star constellations like the seven sisters pleidians and Sirius or Orion, arcturians etc. But when a star energy is around, I always ask them if they're of the light first and work for the highest vibrations before they are allowed to step forward. I find this way it helps. Star energies often have a tendency to connect at night for obvious reasons because stars only come out at night. If a window is open, sometimes, only sometimes their music chorus is beautiful if you feel a connection to the stars and the night sky, it may be an idea to listen out one night for their music/calling. As it's definitely beautiful.
