Be careful of the Super Ego… The Super Ego is a tricky one. The Super Ego is what you might think of as the overseeing aspect of yourself… The voice that says.. ‘This is wrong, don’t do this, your terrible, you must improve etc’ It is often times the barrator, the voice in your head that digs at you for your imperfections. Tells you that you are doing everything wrong, tells you that you re not perfect and that you need to get perfect NOW.
It is also the one who says you are perfect, it’s also the one that tells you ‘you rock’ and that you are pretty good and your awesome, you’re a special human being and more special than anyone else….. This is ALL Super Ego.
The Super Ego is not necessarily the higher self, it’s not the soul, it’s not the ‘god self’ , and you can tell the difference… The eternal self is the one that speaks to you in terms that are more becoming of a master speaking to you for a lack of a better word. The eternal self is wise and it doesn’t assume anything… It just realises itself as what it is, which is consciousness. It doesn’t necessarily realise itself as a none perfect or a perfect being, it just realises itself…there is a difference.
The Super Ego on the other hand either gives you a message that you are not perfect and you need to get perfect and it barrates you for not being perfect, or it tell you that you are perfect and that you are super special.. The Super ego is quite tricky indeed and a lot of people mistake it for the inner self…the god self….the higher self….the deeper self…whatever you want to call it.
SO watch out for the Super Ego. It is hard to recognise unless you have been on the spiritual path for a while and have some knowledge about the inner aspects of the self and how they manifest and how they can be different…Some one who has been on the path a long time can also spot this easily in others. It takes some getting to know all the various personalities, some people will call it the inner child.. get to know these, one of those inner children may be posing as the Super Ego… The one that says ‘your just so awesome, your better than anyone else, or you’re the worst’ .. It takes both tunes, it flip flops back and forth.
When you hear this voice in your head telling you these things, this voice that says your really great, your really special, or the voice that also says your not perfect, your terrible, you need a lot of work…. When you hear this just STOP….Just STOP and realise yourself as part of the eternal consciousness, eternal awareness that you are which neither has perfection or non-perfection … It simply is…and that is where the perfection is. It’s not in having a perfect personality or a non perfect personality… It is not in that at all…It’s in just BEING, that’s where the perfection is…being aware of yourself as consciousness manifest in physical reality… so be careful of the SUPER EGO … It’s a tricky one!!!
It often at times makes you think you are listening to god or a guide when in fact your only listening to a sub personality in the self. A sub personality in the human condition.
