What exactly is reality? Us as humans, have always assumed that reality is anything we can perceive, with our senses. This is actually not to far from the truth. To us, it is reality. IF we can see it, touch, smell, hear and taste it, its real. And I wouldnt’t really say it isnt’t. IF it wasnt’t real then why can we perceive it? What would be the point if it, if what we see, isnt’t reality? There is one thing, that we cannot debate, or prove, but we KNOW exists. Our consciousness. We don’t need to measure it, or have a mathematical calculation for it, because all of us just knows we are conscious. No one can tell us we aren't, or even probe it, because we ARE in fact conscious beings.
So, let start with how we perceive this world. Our eyes, collect light, and pass that information down the retna, to the visual cortex of the brain, which is as you may have guessed is responsible for deciphering the light that enters through our eyes, and creating a picture, of what the brain thinks is there. The brain can only show us, what it is capable of knowing. IF it doesn’t know what it is, it associates it to the most familiar. Our minds are actually 1/10 of a second behind the real world. This is very simple science, and highly accepted.
Also, many physicists today, claim that 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all matter, is 99.999999999999999999999999999999% empty space. But even this view, is starting to wane. The deeper we look, the more we see that “nothing” really exists. We used to think that atoms were made up of clumps of molecules, then we though it was something like the earth and the moon ( which still isn’t wrong), but now, we realize, atoms aren't even really there. They are just light, like everything else in this universe, even energy… which cannot be made, destroyed or broken down, is just light.
So if nothing really exists, then how are you and I here? Simple. Consciousness.
Science is coming closer to the understanding that everything in this world, and universe has a consciousness. No matter how much of a shadow of it, even the slightest feeling of heat or nourishment, it is still consciousness. Look at dogs sleeping, which seem to be dreaming. Or birds, who show the same amount o intelligence as us, in many levels. Fish too, they know where to go for spawning, even though their thousands of miles away. And how can we say that animals don’t feel pain, or have a consciousness, when we ALWAYS use anesthesia on animals? If we didn’t think they felt pain, then why even make then UNCONSCIOUS, if the aren't conscious to begin with? And what about plants? There have been MANY tests showing that plants react to the surrounding environment, moreso then some animals. They can literally react faster to our thoughts then our bodies can.
SO id say, its safe to say, that the universe IS consciousness. Everything in it to a rock, to a whole planet, is conscious in its own right. So what does this actually mean? Well, in many ways, it means nothing is physical. The mind is the tool, to make things physical. The only reason we see and feel things as physical, is because that’s how the mind has evolved to interpret reality. When in fact, all reality, is just light, and magnetic fields of energy, which in turn is light. So simply, everything, that we perceive, in reality, doesn’t exist. It only exists, because its how are minds are wired, and evolved to interpret out surroundings.
I was discussing this with a friend, who politely reacted “ well if I get hit by a truck, it doesn’t matter if it exists or not, I'm still hot by a truck, and am probably dead”. Very true. Its real because our minds make it real. But that doesn’t mean the truck is real, or us living for that matter. We are living in a movie, or video game essentially. We are so immersed in this VR, that we think its real. But in reality, when the game comes off, reality is nothing like what we seen in the game. The same goes for a movie. We laugh, get frightened, and even cheer as the plot in the movie goes on. But it isn’t reality, its light, moving through a moving filter, which gives rise to the movie ( funny, how similar it is to our eyes and minds eh??) Our brain is the movie screen, the world around is is the light, and our eyes our the filter.
But this causes something else. Because our minds dictate what we see, we literally create out own realities. Our consciousness, literally dictates how we see this world, and in turn, how others do as well. The only real thing that makes us individual, are our brains. You can clone Einstein, but he wont be him at all, even with the EXACT brain, because his upbringing will be different. And even the same, you can take the most “slowest” or “dumb” person, clone him, and raise him to be a genius.
This just isn’t humans either. Each bit of consciousness ( which is everything), plays its role in reality. I believe, it’s the vibrations that EVERYTHING in existence emanates, and the fact that 95% of all our thoughts and actions, are dictated subconsciously, and only 5% are conscious, makes what we see today. Think of one instrument playing one note, very plain, and probably annoying, but add an almost infinite amount of notes to that, you create a rich tapestry of life on earth. One person, is made up of trillions of cells, there are 6 billion of us, now all other animals have anywhere between 1 and more cells then that. There are an estimated 100 million species on this earth at this time, with probably trillions of life forms on this planet. This planet, is a cell, in comparison to the solar system, which is made up of one star. The galaxy is made up on billions off stars, and the universe is made up of trillions of galaxies. There is massive amount of consciousness in the universe, with out there being other life then on earth ( which IMO is far from the truth).
The vibration is key. The earth, and everything in it, vibrates in accordance to the phenomenon called “Schumann waves” it’s the frequencies tha the earth is known to resonate. Its actually the basis for our musical scale (do ray ni fah so la ti), and also correlates to our chakras. Why would all matter, or anything in existence have a vibration, if it didn’t have a consciousness? To me, this says everything has a consciousness in some way. So then, its safe to say, that the notion that science has spouted for thousands of years “reality, is what your senses can detect” is false. Reality in essence is nothingness, because it is all light.
Heres the weird thing about light. From something stationary, light moves at something like 180 000 km per second. But the faster your go towards the speed of light, the slower you travel. So if you can attain the speed of light ( there is a fierce debate whether you can or cant right now). So, to lights point of view, it isn’t moving at all. IT just is. How we are going about things, is the same way. We aren't stationary at all. We are all essentially moving at the speed of light. But our minds aren't, like I stated, our minds react 1/10 of a second slower then reality. This trick of the mind, or lag, is what makes reality slow down, and became solid.
This is also a fact of matter. Slower moving particles, like in ice, create a solid object. IF the Mandelbrot set has taught us anything, is that as in the macro, in the micro, and above, so below. The world works in a giant pattern. So the same can be said about how our minds portray reality.
The great masters have seen this reality in their teachings. They always speak about the light, the great light of god ETC. They have quieted their minds, and had a glimpse of what reality is. We each can, and have felt this. It has been described as being in the now, or nirvana, or the quiet in deep meditation, runners high, tunnel vision. Its been called many many things. IT is said by many ancient texts, and some modern belief, that the human orgasm is one of these small glimpses of reality.
This is a very interesting notion. And also goes along with the notion that we are all one, all is us, we are god, god is us, “I am you and what I see is me”, and every relation to a collective consciousness or global being and consciousness. Maybe this is the next great paradigm shift?
Regardless, this has really made me think about reality, and deeply as well. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have writing it
