The crystal ball is a popular tool for divination. As with any form of divination, it takes time to become well versed and practiced. For the purpose of this article, we will go over the basic guidelines for using a crystal ball for scryng

Time and place where you will not be disturbed
Flat surface
Crystal ball
Cloth
Pen/Pencil (optional)
Paper (optional)
Candles (optional)
Candle holders (optional)

Ask Spirit, or the Divinity, to grant guidance and clarity for this 'working'. Ask that you may find the answers you are seeking.

Sit comfortably. Clear your mind of any distractions and focus on the question or event that requires further information and guidance.

Create the proper atmosphere. Light several candles before starting. Be sure the candles are safely placed in flame resistant holders and are a safe distance from the crystal.

Place the crystal in front of you (preferably in a holder or stand). Gaze at the crystal while focusing on your question. Be aware of the feelings and thoughts that enter your mind.

Record the impressions or images that enter your mind. Review the notes from this and other sessions of scrying or divination.

Cleanse the crystal, wrap it and put it away. Thank Spirit for any and all guidance that was received during the 'working'.
