Hi all,
I' m looking for a better way to meditate. I "invented" my own way years ago and was suprised to find all the YouTube videos showing I was basically about right. Relax your body in a wave from feet to head, count down, visualise colours - that sort of thing. Damn, knew I should have written it all in a book ;-)

Neat! Inventing your own way is a good thing. Lots of things can come down to that in terms of healing energies as well!

Hi, @stormdancer I'm mindful of cluttering up this section because it's the boards meet n greet area :-) Are those boards on here or other "xxx.proboards.com" sites? earthealer More like needs must!!! Must have read or heard about calming your mind somewhere so gave it a bash, and it stuck with me since. As I get older it seems less effective though. Meditation to just calm the mind and body, is but a beginning. Perhaps the reason you find it no longer works, is because you wish it to do somethihg? To take you some where or have a certain affect upon you? Perhaps you lack direction. There are many things that can be accomplished using meditation. You have but found the beginning point.

It may be that your mind is quiet enough, but its a good way of keeping the mindset relaxed as well and peaceful. As Often the best experiences come through in the silence though not when the psyche is all chaotic. Guided meditation might help if you have not looked at those already. Focused with candlelight Meditation or deeper meditation, depending on what you want to achieve; it might be a good idea to definitely take a look at reiki, meditation and crystals on this site in this section as well as visualisation/musical stuff, as that might work as well. Can get so carried away listening to music tracks sometimes its like a miniature story within the lyrics, although that's going a touch tangentwise but if they have lyrics, as such. All good though.
