I am a big fan of the use of Pendulums. I have several in my collection which I will showcase later in this post. They have been around for centuries. Some were a needle on a thread, a pencil on a string and they can be made of almost any everyday objects you have around the house.
The use of the Pendulum in divination is not hard and I will briefly explain how I use them. First of all, if you make your own use crystals or objects that you have a connection with these will hold your vibrations and energies. The length of the chain can be to suit your needs. Some recommend 6 to 8 inches, I personally make mine longer and wind the excess around my fingers until I get a comfortable length for my self for the pendulum to hang down.
The first thing that is quite important is to cleanse the pendulum before each use and ask that only white, positive energies connect with you and your pendulum. The next step is to ask how it will answer your questions. It will swing to and fro, side to side or in a circle and this is how it will answer after proceeding with the use of the pendulum. I first ask how it will answer YES, then how it will answer NO, how it will answer UNKNOWN. And last and most importantly is WILL IT ANSWER QUESTIONS TRUTHFULLY, as they will lie if not connected to the proper source to this last one is of vital importance. If it says it will not answer truthfully, cleanse the pendulum and start again or use another pendulum and proceed through the steps again.
When choosing a pendulum there are many sources online to buy them pre-made or you may make your own as they are quite easy to assemble. They can also be used with a Pathfinder Board or Ouija Board if desired, but much caution should be taken when using these tools. I do not advise any novices to use the boards.
When using the pendulums it is very important that it is held so no motion from your body affects the movement of the pendulum. This is why I prefer a longer chain on mine as then I can wrap the excess around my fingers and use my elbow on the table and use my free hand to stabilize the arm holding the pendulum. It is not hard and with practice you will find what is comfortable for you to use.
This pendulum I purchased and it is made of Bloodstone which is a very strong stone to use. Its properties include Detoxifying, Healing, Grounding, Primary Chakra: Root to Heart, Astrological sign(s): Aries, Libra, Pisces Vibration: Number(s) 4 & 6, Member of the Chalcedony (Quartz) family. Legend says that Bloodstone was first formed at Christ’s crucifixion by drops of blood staining the stones at the foot of the cross. You will notice the chain is about 6 inches which is comfortable for some however I prefer longer ones.
This one is the Shiva Lingam stone which I have on a sterling snake chain, found only in India they are sacred to the Hindus, they are consided a gift of the Gods and is said to represent both male and female, while they resonate strongly with earthelement they are considered one of the few stones to contain all four elements, they are a stone of balance, this stone has such a strong energy that they can raise and activate the kundalini and all the chakras at the same time.
This pendulum was made for me by my daughter MysticAngel. The copper chain was handmade link by link and it is very strong as copper is a great conductor of energy. The amethyst point is also wrapped in copper as I resonate very well with amethyst and I have added additional crystals and talismans for my own personal benefits. You will notice the copper chain is quite long and this is how I prefer them for myself as I wrap the excess around my fingers until I find a comfort point.
This was made by myself and uses a sterling chain with my added talismans and crystal. The end of the pendulum is an unknown stone from the Superstition Mountains in Arizona that I found in 1982 while hiking the peaks. It is from the area close to the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine. I have had it to various gemologists and it is an unknown metal and my next stop for identification will be a metallurgist as whatever this is it cannot be scratched, cut and I have had it appraised and I can be told what it isn't but so far not what it is, so it is very special to me.
Working with Pendulums is not hard and very easy for beginners. I would recommend them to anyone to at least try once as it is quite amazing to ask questions and let the universe and its energies use the pendulum to give the answers.
If you have any pendulums or any questions do not hesitate to ask or share your experiences with them as they are a great tool for divination.
