The Altar is a place that 'some' not all witches,pagans,wiccans ect have in their home,Even then some have one outside.
An Altar is a stand or a object like a table,shelf,dresser,book stand,counter,the top of a tree trunk or a flat stone to name a few where they can place display store magic tools,or a place to preform magic as well as place to honour the god/dess.
You can keep one up all the time in a magic room or where you do your craft and/or tidy it away if space is limited.
Your imagination is the limit when it comes to Altars.
I personally love dressing the Altar i have a few in my house one in the bedroom on a little table and one down stairs and one hidden on a bookshelf.Dressing an Altar is the fun part you can do it for crafting or magic,Sabbats and moon phases.
Dressing your Altar can be personal choice,I for one like to correspond with the Sabbat so say Ostara,I dress it with Hares,or bunnies images or objects i have an Ostara mini tree where i hang mini decorative eggs,I have fresh flowers on a vase say likes of Daffidols and i even have a few easter eggs out on the table too (since Easter came from Ostara) I dress the Table in a pastle colour that suits my mood or say a soft yellow and then i place my candles crystals,herbs,tools and Tarot decks ect around this and have it set up for a few days before changing it back to a normal plain normal table untill the next sabbat or moon phase.
My all time best loved Sabbat which is due SO SOON! ;D ;D ;D
Samhain is looming and cos of Hallows eve the shops bring out lots of spooky decorations and I am like a Child in a Candy shop,More so due to being a mummy and its my beans 1st Samhain!!!
